I don't get it. Why do actors give interviews to the print and the tv channels, 4-5 or a week after the release of the film and delcare, "It's a hit!" They sit in front of the camera and doll out of figures of how much the film has garnered in gross and net. Fact: Actors do that when the film hasn't done well. Think about it. Nobody advertises the truth. It is just known.. and accepted. You don't need to 'tell' the world your film is a hit. Besides, it's tacky and a little pathetic. If a film is a hit, it's obvious. The shows run full. People are play the songs, talk about the scenes and recommend the movie to their family and friends. They don't have to be told "it's a hit." That fact is advertised when they WANT the film to do well. Ads are taking out declaring "Superhit," in the hope that gullible public will think, "oh, it's doing well, that means people must've liked it, so I must go and see it." Another reason actors and directors declare their films successful is because they want to be percieved as successful in the industry. So they get more work. this only happens in Bollywood. until now they were selling dreams. Now they are resorting to selling lies. Except no one is buying
